Product description

|Q| Quartomoro| Brut, Classic method|

Created in 2009, when we “played” at creating a sparkling wine, inspired by a curiosity to see, feel, and taste a traditional Sardinian grape with bubbles. Toying with secondary fermentation in the bottle was so enjoyable and satisfying that we decided to continue. In amongst various positive and negative experiences, we found that the manual skill required in the disgorging process almost defeated us, however the hard work and difficulty were rewarded by a beverage which, after aging for at 18 months, embodies for us, emotion and well-being.

Awards

This sparkling wine was awarded a Quality/Price Oscar and a Quality Oscar by Gambero Rossoand was mentioned among the 150 most exclusive sparkling wine brands in the country. At the Vinitaly 2014 the Quartomoro got a Diploma di Gran Menzione

Grapes: traditional Sardinian variety, usually Vermentino

Harvest: manually into boxes, with selection of the grapes on the vine

Vineyards of origin: Alto Campidano |OR|

Soil: sandy soil with oxidative decay

Planting density 2.50x0.90|4,500 plants/ha this year |yield per hectare 90-100 q/ha|

Vinification of base wine| static decantation of the must| fermentation at a temperature of 17-18°c|Matured in steel|

Sensory evaluation: The colour is straw-yellow, with shimmering highlights. The perlage is fine, rich and persistent. The aroma is intense and complex, offering hints of almond, spring flowers and white-fleshed fruit, but also mineral touches of flint stone, and briny, balsamic notes.
The base vine, Sardinian in origin, comes through in the taste, with its heat and fruit. The pleasant perlage caresses the palate with a good freshness.

Combination with foods: a good aperitif wine and pleasant company for fish, white meat and vegetable dishes.

Serving temperature: 6 - 8 C°
